Didn't the Aurora store get their anonymous profiles killed? You still need to login right?

People start contributing usually after they have used it successfully a few times. I understand "make yourself your own map" might not sound as the most appealing solution here.

Awesome thanks! It says... Updated 4 months ago?

Ahh this one I didn't know! Awesome thanks!

I'm sure it might stop working soon enough. For your safety.

As someone that never heard of this... What's the deal with this camera? Does it do all the processing in the phone, or does it rely on the cloud®?

Sets himself up for the Grapheneos fanboys flogging. I'm using Grapheneos myself, and i agree they are not very... Tactful in addressing some specific usecases. I agree with the doctrine of not weakening the system, but an option should exist for people that understand the consequences, and still need a different use than the one envisioned by the developers. I'm not talking about root, there's more decisions that are made for you without your saying. For your safety. But still.

Thanks...RPCS3 seems a bit not too optimized for the Deck yet. Just found out yesterday it doesn't keep up as well as I'd like it to. Wipeout Pure on the PPSPP emulator though...seems to be a port with a few less maps to the PSP, and this one seems to make really good framerates (it indicates 60FPS...but seems a bit not too stable?), even at 10W capped power.

after several countries unilaterally recognized a Palestinian state.

...Unilaterally?? So, which one would be the other side in this??

NFC payments are NOT happening in FOSS I'm afraid. No bank will expose their APIs for it, and any FOSS app dealing with payments might get sued pretty fast.

How is that ahead? You mean in head count?

So...yeah. Just this issue. My ancient trusty S8, which has been with me for quite a few years, is my BYOD work phone. It has been for a while, too. But seems now it's not compliant with the company policies. After some checking, it seems the Play Store is reporting (settings - about) not to be Play Protect certified. But the normal profile is certified! WTF happened, and how can I fix this?

Hi guys!

Just that...is there any FOSS app I could use to get the air pollution (AQI level) or similar for my area?

Thanks!

Hi guys! Just...that. My parents live in Europe, while my servers are at my home in Asia. Europe home has fiber at about 200Mbps symmetric, and Asia home has 1Gbps symmetric. But due to distance, it's hard to get them to reach very fast speeds at all, being capped at about 1MB/s when transferring files or watching Jellyfin. Is there any way to do some sort of static faster routing for the specific home IPs?

So.. Yeah, I installed Lutris on my KDE Neon (based off of Ubuntu 22.04, which might have an outdated Mesa...not sure how to get a most recent one?). I'm getting the now well-known AMD issue with textures, where the FBI jackets are non visible, and the facial textures look a bit...flat/untextured. Performance is rather decent with rasterizing, but Path Tracing/RT is grayed out in settings, not available. Another user suggested Nobara, which is Arch/Fedora-based. This fixed the textures, at the cost of completely tanking the performance to around 10-15FPS. RT settings continue to be greyed out... Any idea of what am I doing wrong? My card should be fully capable of displaying RT graphics, right ? Even if not hitting a great framerate, I'd like to see it!

EDIT: Ok...Just to bring some sanity back, Windows DOES enable the path tracing, and I can see the performance hit depending on whether it's enabled or not, and it definitely plays with a rather high FPS if it's off. So...what's gimping my Linux experience? What can I try?

Thanks!

So...I have an...interesting behavior I've never had before with an Nvidia or integrated intel chipsets...I have now my AMD card plugged both to a normal HDMI monitor, and then to another HDMI TV. Both work well. However, when I turn the TV off... The monitor will start flickering. About three flickers every minute or so. It's not a signal loss also, I can see it's drawing for a brief split second the windows that were drawing on the TV area, so it's kinda rearranging the whole desktop area...then it resets. It does this 3 times, the whole ordeal last a couple seconds, in which everything is unusable because of the flicker, and focus going to all sorts of places. If I turn the TV back on, the behavior stops immediately.

Any idea what's causing this, and how can I sort it out? I'm using KDE Neon latest (it's still Ubuntu 22.04), with an AMD 7800XT, with kisak's ppa. Running an updated kernel 6.5.0-1007-oem. (I followed these instructions to get it working at all)

Hi everyone! I'm trying to prepare a live iso with a USB stick including the additional rescuezilla package (or, alternatively, additional packages for a live rescuezilla .iso). Sadly rescuezilla does not support encryption, and so I'd like to be able to create/encrypt an image on one single live iso, not having to do a double iso boot just for this. I'm trying to do this in a manner that I won't need internet once I need to use this USB stick. And hence...I found the most quoted command as:

apt-get download $(apt-rdepends |grep -v "^ ")

But this seems to work ONLY if your package is also part of the repo. If it's an external .deb such as rescuezilla_2.4.2-1_all.deb is, then the command just fails with:

Reading state information... Done
W: Unable to locate package ./rescuezilla_2.4.2-1_all.deb
E: Handler silently failed

So...what can I do to download the many dependencies of rescuezilla onto a USB stick? Thanks!

Ok this one might be silly but...where can I buy a real raised relief map these days? It's for a gift...Is there a trustworthy seller making them? I mean, with real physical elevations of mountains etc, not just shading to give it a "look-like". I'm interested maybe in European regions or the whole world, not US-centric.

Thanks!

Hi again! So...based on my previous post, it'd seem that it's going to be quite some headache to get an old intel 6700 CPU with a PCIe 3.0 to work decently with more up to date GPUs (that is, to see a decent improvement in performance at all). I'd like to do a cross-jump to AMD CPUs this time, to be paired with a 6800XT or a 7800XT. I intend to game on Linux, although there will be a Win10 partition for the troublesome games, and also for the Vive Wireless, which is unsupported on Linux. But I've been out of the AMD loop for a while. What's cooking? What would be a good second-to-last generation CPU recommendation or so? Am I missing any important tech if I don't choose the latest and the greatest? Is ReBAR a thing yet? (Not sure if this is the answer to PS5's direct asset streaming from the SSD straight to the GPU). At this point, I'd like to know what CPUs are adviseable, in order to get some idea for a PC build, so I can go get quotes...and see if that's something I'd be able to afford :)

Hi guys! So I'm considering upgrading my...veteran PC. Currently, a Core i7 6700 with an Nvidia GTX1070, 16GB RAM running from a Gigabyte Z170 Gaming K3 (PCIe 3.0) mobo. I'm currently considering to upgrade the GPU to a 6800XT, although I saw the 4070 for a bit cheaper, maybe ~80USD less. I've posted this earlier, and got a helpful reply making me aware both of these cards are already PCIe 4.0, and while the CPU might be a bit bottlenecked, it should be a noticeable performance increase. I've got an additional comment saying otherwise, that even currently with the 1070 the CPU would be bottlenecking. I was not able to reply to these, as my post (on FOSS gaming community) was removed. I guess this is not FOSS enough... So, PCMasterrace, what do you guys think?

Additionally, this veteran mobo would support a slight CPU increase to a 7700, which on the second hand market it wouldn't be all that much money (for what I reckon, not that much performance increase, either). What do you guys think? What should I do?

Thanks!

Hi guys! So, just in short my gf would like to learn a bit about trading, import/export etc, as a way to change career path. She's trying to figure out what kind of course to do. Since she's working, it would need to be an online course, but I'm not sure which ones are...not so scammy? Maybe, with a recognized not-made-up certification? I'm not sure where to start looking for this. It would be ideal if the course included some tutor to guide/evaluate her progress, not just a bunch of packed online videos "here you go, figure it out". Does such a thing even exist?

Thanks!

Hi guys! Just that...not sure there's news about this anywhere, but seems duckdns has been out...maybe for 3-4h already?

Hi guys! So, Sonarr seems to completely miss my Frontline episodes. I manually downloaded the whole 2023 season. It still fails to find it on its "Season 2023" folder. What should I be doing? Thanks!
