While it might feel rough for you, it's worth remembering that a lot of women have faced very real threats of violence for their upfront honesty.

If you're only getting vague signals then maybe that's the sign that she's not fully into you.

I keep coming back to this song. One of my absolute favourites.

🎡 eyeholes in a paper bag...

I can't praise this album highly enough. Even 20 years after first hearing it, I still find something new to appreciate in it.

Fast forward 400 years and a new religion gets started when someone unearths the metal blog tablets.

Gary Oldman is younger than Gary Numan.

Oh wow I never realised I was missing tornado facts from my life but I am genuinely loving learning about this.

I've had a lot of good experiences with ear plugs. I've used musician's earplugs to help reduce noise without blocking it out entirely, and while I don't have personal experience with Loop earplugs I've heard a lot of positive things about them.

Regarding seeming "rude" by wearing earplugs: I completely understand the concern here. All I can really offer is that you're doing something to look after and care for yourself: if other people have a problem with it then its a "them" problem, not a "you" one. This is just a personal method I use to help me get over the worry: I think of myself as a child, and consider how validating it would feel to see an adult wearing hearing protection/whatever else to make them feel comfortable, and how it would help child-me feel more empowered about my own comfort and needs. So I do it for child-me, and if that also gives anyone else a boost or helps them not to feel so awkward then that's just a win for everyone.

A friend recently got me into this album and this is one of my favourite tracks off it.

I recently dipped into this band and really like their style. Kinda shoegazey, kinda post hardcore.

I have so much love for this album. It's one of the first I ever bought. Such a beautiful track too.

I hope you recover from yours quickly. Food is the thing about Christmas I look forward to the most. This year I've just about managed to eat 5 plain crackers in the past 24 hours πŸ˜‚

"Untitled" by Smashing Pumpkins. It's not my favourite song of theirs but it immediately takes me back to when it came out, watching it with my first girlfriend on Kerrang TV.

This album really landed for me when it came out. I was an angsty teen going through some general teenage angst and this song came along, sounding like it had been written just for me.

You couldn't pay me enough to go through teenagehood again, but the music was good.

Absolutely love this track

I'm getting a "LemmyApiException: temporarily_disabled" error when trying to view comments on lemmy.world, and comments don't show.

This only seems to be happening on my account on lemmy.world with Thunder. Liftoff doesn't have the issue, I've tried with an account on a different instance with Thunder and I'm able to see comments without any errors.

Is anyone else having the same issue?

The album this song is on is such an important one for me, and really shaped my taste in music. I still love it, 22 years later.

Lately I've been thinking about this song in particular, and it really fits my mood today.

The first song I ever heard by VNV Nation, and this is what got me into them.

In fact, I didn't even know it was VNV Nation for about a year: it was mistagged as an unreleased/bootleg Nine Inch Nails track when I downloaded it. I have no idea how I managed to convince myself this could have been NIN: I'll blame the naΓ―vete of youth.

I've not had a very good day.

But sitting in a comfy chair, some soft lighting on, with this album playing is helping to soothe the jagged edges.of today.

There's a reason I keep coming back to Nine Inch Nails, and it's because there's a track or album for whatever I'm feeling.
