Have you changed the name yet?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 days ago

I just suggested "Slightly". >:)

I like new options. I'd suggest you change the name, though. I still have the regular lightly and I want to use this alongside it.

Great work. I'm going to pin it to my browser and take a look around. I know 0 about C++ (mostly work with C# at work), but hey anything I can do I will do. Thank you.

Fractional scaling was the only issue that held me from using Wayland for way too long. So glad they've fixed it with 6, otherwise, I would have been still on x11

Where have I heard of this app? Hmmm

No idea what customer overlays are. Lol

That worked. Thanks. I don't see much difference really. Also, I now have 2 breeze themes. Lol

I actually forgot to mention that the only issues I have are some of my favorite apps/features just don't work on Wayland. example, superpaper is an app that I use to span wallpapers across both of my monitors. It doesn't work as well as on x11. It does work, but I'd have to launch it from the terminal every single time I reboot. Also, it's tray icon doesn't show up. Betterbird email client's "close to minimize" feature doesn't work on Wayland. Even the developers basically told me to kick rocks when I reported it on GitHub and said that working with Wayland is a nightmare for them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have a PC with a very old 1080ti on it, and that shit is a nightmare on x11. Only Wayland made it somewhat usable. It still had issues, but not as bad as on x11. Ended up putting windows on this machine. Until I get a new AMD GPU for it in the near future.

Is it just me, or are you folks running Wayland with no issues? I've even forgotten I was on Wayland until I looked at the settings the other day. I have all AMD, btw. I have zero issues so far. Anyone else?

Then I don't know honestly. I just installed it from the AUR and it has been working no problem. Hey, I am not an experienced developer, but I dabble. I am willing to help with whatever shit knowledge I have. I can also test since I have a couple of extra laptops. Let me know. Just a heads-up, I'm not always 100% available. 2 kids (one special needs) and a full time job, but I'll do the best I can :)

Hi all, I have a desktop and laptop with a touchscreen. Both running Plasma/Wayland. English is my second language and I search things in my language often. Maliit works just fine on the laptop, but it's basically a dud on the desktop. I can only enable and disable it. It never shows nor work at all on the desktop. Tried onboard, gnomes on screen keyboard, and that thing is useless, too. Anyway to make Maliit work or is there an alternative? I really need it for the desktop. Thanks.

What is this message on the lock screen? I get this at really random times and very rarely. Is this a bug? If so, I'll report it. If it's not a big, then what is it?

Running Endeavour OS Linux and just updated to plasma 6.0.5, framework 6.3.0, Qt version 6.7.1 on Wayland. I use capslock strictly as my brain refuses to learn using shift (I do touch type no problem), but as well know the capslock is very slow on Linux which always results in text like THis. So, I've found a fix for it online and one of the steps is to enable the option "make capslock an additional Ctrl", but that's not gone :/ What to do?

Not sure if this is something voyager can do or if it's a Lemmy thing. I don't see any indicator that a post is locked when the mods lock it.

Like the title says, are there any EVs that just have a Bluetooth radio and that's it? Like a normal car, not a smartphone on wheels? If not, do you all think that this will actually happen at some point? This is the main reason why I can't (and will never) buy an EV. I like to have actual buttons everywhere on my car. I think those massive tablets on these cars with all the touch buttons are very dangerous. I like an "entertainment system" that only connects to my phone with either a headphone jack ~~of~~ or Bluetooth. It's a car, not a PC.

I was going through my block list and found out that there is no way to unblock any of them on the app. There was nothing to click or 3 dots for options or anything. Just a list of the blocked communities. Anyone knows how? Thanks

Switching from Endeavour OS to Nobara

Hi all, I've been having issues with my favorite games on EndeavourOS Linux. Also, on top of that, an update the other day deleted my whole plasma desktop and left me with a skeleton of SDDM. I got it fixed, but some things are still wonky. I'm honestly getting tired of maintaining it and I just want something that just works for my video games and some coding. Nobara sounded awesome after some research. I do have a couple of questions for you all before switching:

  1. Is Nobara atomic? Immutable? Or whatever those distros are called.

  2. I have my /root, /home separate each in their own drive, plus a 3rd one for my steam and other games. Since I'm coming from Arch and I'll only be formatting my root drive, what folders/files will I need to remove from my /home directory after switching to Nobara so I don't have issues?

  3. Since I separate drives for everything, I'll be doing a manual partitioning when I install Nobara, and will be choosing btrfs for my /root so I can do snapshots with timeshift. My question is, does Nobara set up the subvolumes automatically for me when I do manual partitioning, or do I need to set them up myself?

  4. How hard is it to set up snapshots in grub?

  5. Or does Nobara have a back up tool already that already does snapshots?

Thank you.

When will be your "this is the last fucking time I'm voting for the 'lesser of two evils', then I don't care after that, let this country burn to the ground"? For me, this is basically it. This is last election I'm going for that " lesser of two evils" bullshit. After that I'm done. It's just pointless. Let's hear it.

Hi all, I'm switching motherboards. No dGPU. Going from an Intel MB to an AMD one. I have my root partition on an nvme and the home one on a 2.5" sata. Do I need to reinstall, or can I just move the drives from the old MB to the new one without a problem? Figured since both Intel and AMD drivers are both baked into the kernel out of the box, wouldn't it just work and I'll only need to remove the Intel stuff? I'm running good ole endeavourOS with KDE Plasma if that makes any difference. Any insight is much appreciated

I have signed up about 3 or 4 days ago and still can't log in. I didn't add an email, just a user name. I answered the question and all. Is there anyone who can approve my sign up request? Thanks

Hello, everyone I have posted this question on reddit and thought I'd post here, too. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Edit: I have found the solution. For some reason kscreen was unchecked from background services out of the box. Checked and enabled it and everything is good now.
