Ukrainian government in exile will defeat Putin in western hearts and minds.

With the power of friendship

[–] [email protected] 52 points 8 months ago (1 children)

The most dangerous weapon on earth, friendship with America.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 8 months ago

Dangerous for those who have it.

che-smile lib cope is always funny. They can't ever just take the the L. Its always, "this is hiw we actually won," or the classic "it's complicated."

[–] [email protected] 35 points 8 months ago

Or "we actually didn't care about that conflict"

[–] [email protected] 16 points 8 months ago (5 children)

🅱️olsonaro is the only lib who accepted his defeat accordingly lol

Did he? I don't remember him saying "I've lost, it's alright guys" to his supporters. He've been saying there was a fraud in 2018 (which he fucking WON) and 2022 elections; he never came in public and said "Hey guys, could you please stop blocking roads, stop making protests all over Brazil and stop asking for a coup in front of the army barracks?".

After he lost, he simply vanished for almost a month, and neither the Federal Police nor the army under his command did something to stop the protests. In fact, an army general came in public and said to Bolsonaro supporters: "Don't lose faith" - even though they were causing chaos all over the country.

At last, we had Jan 8, which is equivalent to USA's Capitol riot. Bolsonaro supporters invaded the congress, the presidential palace and the supreme court, and trashed the places (fortunately, no one was working there this day). All of these things wouldn't happen if Bolsonaro came in public and accepted his defeat.

That's, not what happened. We didn't get our crappier version of the capitol invasion because he admitted defeat

then they got thrown into lulags

Didn’t he run off to Florida or something when he lost?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 months ago

He did, but he got "sick" and went to a hospital. Then he saw the medical bill, then he got healthy again really fast after that, and his visa expired so he had to return to Brazil. And some weeks later he lost his political rights until 2030 (He lost it two times, now he can't run in 2030, which means his rights will only return in 2034).

No, Bolsonaro refused to accept defeat, he tried everything to reverse the election results. Until the Army, the Air Force and the neoliberal Ghouls told him to accept defeat. Even so, he still tried to stage a coup in the government on January 8th.

And unlike in the US, there was an actual document that the military wanted Lula to sign in order to order the army to take over the government. It's a bit like the one they made Pedro Castillo sign, but it's not the same thing.

Lula decided not to sign and chose to use his powers as president to intervene in state security and order the police to repress and arrest the Bolsonaro supporters. And so they ended up being arrested, forced to shower and vaxxed.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago

No he didn't, he said the election was stolen and then his followers turned into doomsday cultists, camping outside national congress and military bases (while begging the military to "do something", as in, install Bolsonaro as a dictator), as well as blocking roads. Eventually he fucked off to the US because he didn't want to hand over his post to Lula in person and because he was scared that he was going to be arrested for attempting a coup.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago

No he didn’t what are you talking about, it took months for someone close to him to actually talk as if he wasn’t the president anymore, and he still avoided such topics to almost a year

They believe that the good guys always win, and they also believe themselves to always be the good guys. Hence the mental gymnastics.

In a few years we will see Finland vs USSR levels of copium saying Ukraine actually won while losing nearly a quarter of its territory

[–] [email protected] 42 points 8 months ago (1 children)

All the "Putin wants to conquer and annex all of Ukraine" shit is good prep for "We won because we stopped Putin from conquering all of Ukraine, we didn't want those regions full of Russian traitors anyway". Which is funny because "conquering all of Ukraine" has only ever been a victory condition for Zelensky and friends.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 8 months ago

Or: "we won because Russia lost a billion men", while the offcial numbers are closer to a casualty rate of 1:8 with Ukraine losing the 8.

[–] [email protected] 51 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Here's how Ukraine can still win

[–] [email protected] 46 points 8 months ago (2 children)

"You don't need to reclaim your territory to declare victory" Giving flashbacks of NATO in Afghanistan, "mission success, victory"

[–] [email protected] 51 points 8 months ago (1 children)

In fact, considering how much control over their national resources and economic policy they are going to give up to then IMF, Ukranie doesn't need any of its territory to win.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 8 months ago

As a consolation prize they will get some ivy league expat that hasn't seen Ukraine in decades to be charge of the IMF programs there, you know, just for a local touch.
