Y'know...if a country can be completely erased by a woman wearing a shirt with a picture of fruit on it, perhaps that country lacks legitimacy? thonk

[–] [email protected] 39 points 8 months ago

It's ok because it's not a real country anyway.

I love it when the people calling us insane and cowardly for not wanting ethnic cleansing in Gaza suddenly come forward with their phobia of Free Parking signs, jellyfish plushies, watermelons, and triangles

I swear, someone has to make a Palestinian version of "the man from the Daily Mail" song, if this sort of thing pops up...

"Every bird upon my word is saying 'yo ho, I'm a provo' Every hen in jail is laying hand grenades, 'over there sir, I do declare sir' "

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago (3 children)

Wait, what is the jellyfish one, that's new to me.

It's a plush toy that can be turned inside out, which Greta Thunberg famously had in the background of a picture of herself and her friends in support of Palestine. According to liberals on Twitter, it vaguely resembled an octopus from some antisemitic caricature; which (1) was only true in the way that the Big Dipper resembles an actual dipper and (2) if you make this kind of association unprompted it says more about you than about Ms Thunberg or Palestine

[–] [email protected] 4 points 8 months ago

I think it was an octopus. Just not an antisemitic one.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 8 months ago

Iirc there was drama because Greta thunberg took a picture supporting Palestine with one of those autistic octopus plushies. Zionists thought the plush was referencing those propaganda posters with the big octopus covering the world with its tentacles.

For a minute I thought that this was fake because you posted it in a meme subcommunity, but nope, it’s real.

Anyway,

Thank you for stopping antisemitism.

The fact that the account is so outraged by the support of Semites that it's using that to push an antisemitism agenda is frankly baffling.

I believed it because I learned 🍉 is being used to get around censorship of 🇵🇸 (colors are the same) too recently

I find this all very strange tbh. Zionists are freaking out at everything, accusing anything and everything of being "antisemitic."

But surely they would have a first hand knowledge of the kinds of dogwhistles anti-Semites actually use? Is the goal here to obfuscate antisemitism itself? To water down dogwhistling to the point of meaninglessness so they can "cancel" anyone they like, while simultaneously allowing actual anti-Semites to get away with blatant and open antisemitism? I can't see any other reason for this, it just seems like they're trying to both silence all opposition, regardless of how outrageous it looks to do so, while also providing ammo to actual anti-Semites because "(((they))) can cancel anyone they like for any reason."

Isn't Israel's goal to be the only safe place for Jews? In the entire world, that is. I think stoking bigotry while giving cover to bigots is the point because it makes everywhere else a more hostile place for Jews, encouraging them to migrate.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 8 months ago

It just shocks me how anti-Jewish it all is. They don't care how many Jews are killed by the neo-nazis they help create and empower, they only care that the survivors move to Israel.

My only hope with this is that it ends up being so blatant that it causes the neo-nazi's brains to short-circuit, because they're being funded and supported by Israel and are effectively doing Israel's bidding.

It’s not enough that they’re committing genocide they have to be whiny fucking babies while doing it. Utterly reprehensible

[–] [email protected] 18 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

This shit gives the Nazis cover. When someone equates a watermelon shirt with the systematic genocide of a minority group, they've lost the argument.

I believe the Streisand Convention states that I must meow paint my car to resemble a watermelon.
