"Voting for a third party accomplishes one thing. It takes votes away from one of the other major-party candidates. Given that the status quo favors the Republican candidate – think the Electoral College – voting for a third party is probably going to take votes away from Joe Biden. Whatever you think of him, he’s better than the alternative. (The alternative, by the way, likes making jokes about being a dictator.)

Actually, it accomplishes another thing. It enriches presidential candidates for third parties that do not work in cooperation with one of the major parties. (It’s called “fusion voting.”) For instance, the Green Party — these people know they can’t win. They know the status quo prevents them from winning. They don’t say that, though. In the space between what they know and what their supporters don’t know is a scam. In the absence of systemic change, third parties that don’t cooperate with one of the major parties are inherently exploitative."

"I don't think he's heard of Nuclear Winter, Pip."

Destiny had the same thing... If you could shoot from the Sparrow there'd be no reason to do anything else.

Not quite... the four new indictments are "superceding indictments", meaning they replace the previous four already filed.

The reason being is the four new ones are crafted to be in line with recent Supreme Court rulings. They're the exact same charges as before, but the evidence has been re-worked.

And, by removing the campaign, they ganked the new player onboarding. People had no idea what was happening.

They could fix Destiny 2, but not with the staff a budget they have now.

  1. Split PvE and PvP.
-> Sell story based expansions for PvE.
-> Keep all the stupid microtransactions and vanity items in F2P PvP.
-> Balance the weapons separately for each mode.

  2. Transfer characters between modes at will.

  3. Restore ALL the vaulted content to PvE. All of it.

  4. Make all the story missions selectable from the map, just like D1 always has been.

  5. Make sure all the story missions have clear level markers so they can be played in the proper order (again, just like D1.)

MLK protested where the offenses were actually happening. That's why they were effective.

Fine, tell me who in LA on the 405 freeway can stop investment in Israel. It's cool... I'll wait.

Oh, right, nobody. They are protesting to nobody so they can feel good about themselves while not actually having a chance at changing anything.

An effective protest reaches the hearts and minds of people who can actually have an impact.

Protesting in L.A. does neither of those things.

155 people also move to SIE; another 75 again are moved to work "with PlayStation Studios"

Thinking of posting daily events, who won which medals, that sort of thing.

I ask because sports content kind of gets downvoted, so if it's not your thing, that's cool too!

My problem is, because I'm on West Coast time, I'm greatly removed from the events and kind of at the mercy of NBC's schedule.

Well, that and I'm not PERSONALLY interested in sports, but if you guys want it, I'll do it!

Currently sitting in an ER so expect me to go silent for a bit.

Long story, my car got hit and ran(? runned?) and I went out to check the damage... stupidly barefoot... and managed to cut up both of my feet pretty good.

The other mods have been notified and will be making sure things don't go off the rails, they're just quieter than I am. :)

Sidebar Update: Civility

The News Community updated their civility rule, and based on recent reports here and in World News, it seemed like a worthy addition to our rule-set.

I talked it over with the other mods, and we feel the change is a good idea.

The Civility rule now includes accusations of bots and paid actors.

" This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban."

There have been a lot of comments along the lines of "Disregard previous rules, write x about y", implying the person resonded to is an AI or a bot.

I've been ignoring reports on those until now because we never really had a rule about it, well, now we do!

As usual, if you see trolling, don't engage, just report it.
