Oh, fun! It was blue asbestos, too. They couldn't have made it any more carcinogenic if they tried.

Credit to @partial_[email protected] for finding the source.

Why settle for regular cancer if you can have TURBO cancer?

[–] [email protected] 21 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I want my tumors to get tumors!

[–] [email protected] 13 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

the secret was here the whole time, use cancer to cure the cancer! Finally, I can be proud of my astrology sign!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago

Turbo is clearly better, no?

"Ok, so...I guess now we need to dip them in arsenic to prevent bacterial infection. And we could also irradiate them to make sure the viruses are all dead!"

"Yeah, man. We'll have the healthiest cigarettes on the market!"

[–] [email protected] 23 points 6 months ago (3 children)

And we could also irradiate them

It will be expensive, but make sure you find a neutron source. Don't settle for the stuff that basically everybody uses for irradiating things.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago

We don't want no pansy electron beam irradiators! Full ompf ionozation please.

From 52 till 56. Have no idea how they survived and why RJ Renyolds paid 27.4 billion for them 10 years ago.

[–] [email protected] 40 points 6 months ago (9 children)

It’s an addictive drug. Like Dennis Leary said, you could name them Death and make the packaging black with a skull and crossbones and people would buy two at a time.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 6 months ago (14 children)

Is that why they are marketing water like this now?

I KNEW it was fishy. I'm going to stick to soda, vodka and beer instead, thank you very much.

[–] [email protected] 45 points 6 months ago (3 children)

That's water for people who want to avoid alcohol in a crowd and don't want rando douchebags commenting on drinking water. That water saves a lot of headache for the user in the right circumstances and I will never fault it for that.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 months ago

Fair enough.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 months ago

I have also bought one of these with a beer cuz it’s in a can and survives my walk through the crowd and it’s not a plastic bottle.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 months ago

[–] [email protected] 17 points 6 months ago (1 children)

That's-a one spicy devil stick!

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 months ago

You like-a deh filter, eh?

[–] [email protected] 16 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Holy shit, how long would one live without lung cancer smoking these? Directly inhaling fibers which never will leave your lung again. Did anyone smoke these for the years they existed and lived without lung cancer?

[–] [email protected] 14 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

From the asbestos.com link someone else posted:

Asbestos exposure is the primary cause of pleural mesothelioma, a rare and aggressive cancer, but inhaling asbestos also multiplies a smoker’s risk of developing lung cancer fiftyfold or greater.

The carcinogenic risk of asbestos exposure and cigarette smoking is exponentially higher than the risk of each exposure added. This is known as the synergistic effect of asbestos exposure and smoking.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I remember the "micronite" filter in their advertisements. I had no idea it was made out of freaking asbestos.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 6 months ago

It reminds me of slavaboos breathing through asbestos gas mask filters.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 6 months ago

I miss r/asbestosremovalmemes. It wasn't a big enough community to try to replicate here on Lemmy. Asbestos memes are so goddamn funny to me.

What's the point of trying to filter the smoke anyway. The smoke is the part that gives you the feeling. If you put a full air filter on the front end of a cigarette and took a clean breath of air why the fuck would you buy cigarettes. I get a light filter makes it less harsh but jeez

[–] [email protected] 11 points 6 months ago

The filter is there to catch big stuff that'll make you gag. The microscopic ash particles are what you want to inhale, not the 2mm wide chunks
